Teachers FAQ

1. What is the nature of the contract, and what are the key terms? Before joining our team, you will be required to sign a one-year contract. Key terms include adherence to company policies, commitment to confidentiality, and maintaining the agreed-upon duration of the contract.
2. How much can I expect to earn in my first month? Your earnings for the first month will depend on your experience, student feedback, performance, and availability. Monthly earnings range from $50 to $1,500.
3. How and when are payments processed? Payments are made at the end of each month via Whish Money, which has over 900 locations.
4. How many hours will I work each week? Your weekly hours will depend on your availability and the number of hours you are able to commit to. On average, teachers work 15 hours per week.
5. How does scheduling availability work? You will select the days and hours you are available to teach. The more availability you offer, the higher your potential monthly earnings.
6. Can I change my availability after it has been set? Availability is determined before you sign the contract. Once set, changes are difficult to accommodate unless a valid reason is provided at least 14 days in advance (e.g., a new university semester schedule).
7. Will my sessions count if a student cancels? Your schedule is finalized at 9:00 PM the day before the session. Any cancellations or changes made by the student after that time will still count as a completed session.
8. What curriculum will I use for teaching? The curriculum will be a blend of our structured content and your personal teaching techniques. While we provide key points for your sessions, you are expected to demonstrate creativity and deliver engaging lessons.
9. How can I increase my monthly earnings? Your earnings can increase based on your performance. Consistently arriving on time, delivering high-quality sessions, receiving positive reviews, and adhering to company policies will lead to increased payments. Conversely, frequent tardiness, poor session quality, and negative feedback may decrease your earnings.
10. Will I be responsible for recruiting students? No, your primary responsibility is teaching and ensuring timely attendance. You are expected to adhere to our policies and structure, and to assist students in achieving their goals.
11. Are all sessions conducted online? Yes, all sessions are conducted via Zoom.
12. What is the dress code for online sessions? To maintain a professional atmosphere, instructors should dress appropriately for online sessions. Casual wear such as pajamas or overly formal attire is not suitable. A basic, professional standard of dress with a clean, quiet background is required. Conducting sessions from locations other than a calm, quiet room is strictly prohibited.
13. Is there any training provided, and can I sign the contract after the training? You will participate in multiple sessions similar to the demo session you completed. We will provide teaching tips and ongoing training. If you were selected, it indicates that your demo session was successful. Since the demo session reflects what you will be doing, further trials are unnecessary before signing the contract.
14. Can I request time off for a ceremony or event? For any planned time off, you must inform the administration at least 10 days in advance.
15. What should I do in the case of an emergency? In the case of an emergency, you must notify the administration as soon as possible and provide formal documentation, such as a hospital note, to explain your absence. Failure to provide proof may affect your monthly payment, and repeated unexcused absences may lead to disciplinary action, including possible termination.
